Yes, for sure. Many creatives face this dilemma… but they find they have to go for their creative dream no matter what.

I’m so glad to read this article you wrote, because that is the reason I decided to go back to school to become a professional chef. Sure I wanted a “second job” “day job” but I didn’t want just to get paid the minimum wage. That is why I chose to bocome a Chef. Long time ago when I was thinkin about becoming an actor, I also wanted to open a restaurant, but as always I don’t move a finger If I am not prepared for whatever is that I want to do. Now that I graguated, not only I will be able to have a “second job” or “day job” but I will be paid a good salary. Because as you say, eventhough what I want to do is act, a job in a restaurant also makes part of my life, after all, sooner or later, probably when I start being noticed as an actor, I will be able to open my own restaurant. That not only will be good economicallt speaking, but, as an actor, I believe gives you other skills, and help you to expand your experiences, after all we are actors and we need to have new experiences. And being at Le Cordon Bleu, it has given me a great deal of experiences and moments that I will surly be using as an actor.

thanks one more time your your great article

Sinceraly,

Carlos Botero

I am working two jobs and barely making ends meet. One job is at a nightclub which is very physically taxing and the other is a part time marketing job. I have the skills to make double the hourly rate combined yet heistant to go that route because of the doubt of flexibility. Bills are getting higher due to lack of or late payment, rent is due, food is scarce. I am at wits end and all I want to do is act. So I guess my conclusion is-I’m stumped. 🙁
