In dialogue, how many spaces between sentences?  Are there 2 blank spaces between the period and the next sentence? Or 1 blank space?

Actually, Guy, it’s a great question — one I reviewed extensively myself a few months back.

The answer is that either is correct. However…

It used to be in the days of typewriters with courier font only, that 2 spaces were used — I suppose for readability.

However, there is an accelerating trend in the days of computers now, to change it to only 1 space. I’ve used 2 forever, but am trying to train myself to use only 1 — which seems to be winning as the new standard. Most importantly, be consistent in any given document. But both are correct!
